Increased equity
- $1.76M to 39 organisations for community-led responses to COVID 19, including grants related to food security across Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau.
- $5.58M approved to Manaiakalani Educational Trust over three years to lift the educational engagement and performance of tamariki in low decile schools across Northland and South Auckland and to leverage digital enablement, connectivity, affordability and cyber-smart working.
- $98,100 to enable The Tongan Health Society Incorporated to reduce inequity in accessing services and improve overall mental wellbeing in Tongan youth in South Auckland.
Social Inclusion
- $105,777 for community-led responses to COVID 19, including supporting organisations for the deaf to enable access to important information during lockdowns.
- $50,000 to Rainbow Youth Incorporated for a collaboration with Te Ngākau Kahukura, to support a co-design process to strengthen the capability of the housing and homeless sector to safely and effectively respond to the housing needs of rainbow communities.
- $80,000 to Take2 Limited for a pilot programme teaching computer coding to prisoners.
Regenerative Environment
- Gulf Innovation Fund Together (G.I.F.T) working in partnership with entrepreneurs and innovators to test, scale and create new systems to restore the mauri of Tīkapa Moana/Te Moana-nui-ā-Toi (the Hauraki Gulf), including $583,573 of grants funding.
- $100,000 to The Nature Conservancy Aotearoa New Zealand to support the establishment of a collaboratively funded capacity support and training programme for conservation and natural resource management leaders.
- $20,000 to Sustainable Kaipara in support of Closing the Loop Programme, preventing and reducing waste going to landfill and embedding circular economy practice in Kaipara.
Community Support
- $600,688 to 26 organisations for community-led responses to COVID 19, including Te Kotahi a Tāmaki - a collective of 27 marae in Tāmaki Makaurau who provides essential services during and after lockdowns.
- $6.11M to sporting organisations (52 grants), including a 3-year multi-year grant to Touch New Zealand Incorporated for programme delivery in Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau.
- $4.29M to arts & culture organisations (90 grants), including $500,000 to Waitakere Arts And Cultural Development Trust for the development of the Te Pou Theatre space at Corban Estate Arts Centre.
